The OnePlus Fold may launch in August, but we are yet to receive an official confirmation from the company. Ahead of that official announcement, OnePlus' first folding smartphone's specifications have been leaked, and based on the specs, the device looks like an enhanced version of the OnePlus 11 5G in a folding form factor. That is not particularly a bad thing, since we found the OnePlus 11 a great value-for-money flagship with a reliable camera system in our review. Let's take a look at the OnePlus Fold's expected specifications.
According to 91Mobiles, the OnePlus Fold will feature an 8-inch QHD+ OLED primary display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the cover display may offer a 6.5-inch viewing area with Full-HD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The folding phone may have high-quality AMOLED panels that it already uses on existing OnePlus flagships.
The leak claims the phone would be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 4,800mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The top variant of the phone might be offered with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. Similar to the OnePlus 11, there could be three cameras on the back -- a 50-megapixel OIS camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel periscope camera. The cover and the primary display may include a 32-megapixel selfie camera each.
The report suggests OnePlus Fold and Oppo's next-gen Oppo Find N3 are essentially the same smartphones with some tweaks in the design. The detail is not particularly surprising as Oppo and OnePlus' operations are overseen by OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau. In fact, Lau took the stage and officially unveiled the first-gen Oppo Find N in 2021.
